New at Roden Gray for S/S ’12 is One Nine Zero Six.
Every piece from¬†One Nine Zero Six¬†is designed and manufactured in England by Gymplex using traditional British fabrics like Ventile Cotton, along with proprietary textiles like their (take a deep breath) “two fold Egyptian long-staple cotton pique jersey”.
Founded in 1906, Gymphlex have developed sportswear, workwear and high performance fabrics for over one hundred years. The company have¬†have manufactured for some of the most renowned English brands including Burberry and Barbour and¬†dressed British sporting champions, the oldest English schools and the British military. The company has flown below the radar for the last few decades, but enjoyed a resurgence in popularity with the Japanese market where heritage-obsessed shoppers coveted the brand’s classic sportswear.
For¬†Spring/Summer 2012, One Nine Zero Six has used¬†”fabrics with form that have been carefully selected to give a clean lined appearance to the outerwear” along with beautiful linens for shirting and versatile British fabrics like waxed cotton and Ventile for outerwear.
