After honing his skills at high profile design houses like Givenchy, Dior, and Marc Jacobs,French designer Alexandre Mattiussi established his own menswear label, Ami (french for “friend,” and also the designers initials combined with the last letter of his name), in 2011. Dedicated to providing a complete wardrobe for today’s real man, Ami concentrates on making chic and cool clothing with no fantasies or pretensions, but with a relaxed sense of ease and uthenticity. Making friends has never been more effortless.
Never straying from the ethos of relaxed elegance, the Spring/Summer 2013 collection from Ami gives us all the essential ingredients for a perfect summer wardrobe. Effectively utilising classic warm weather fabrics like linen and ultra-light cotton, the collection also contains subtle surprises like the covetous “birds of France” print that can be seen on everything from shorts and button-down shirts to hoodies and backpacks.
